Summer is definitely over. All the leaves are brown and the sky is grey. The winds have blown almost all the leaves off the trees. Only the most stubborn of those remain. The gardens are looking like a feel. Spent, dry, and all used up. I don't mean to be a real bummer, but I have been feeling depressed and uninspired lately.

Yesterday was a perfect central Minnesota summer day, the kind of day I love the most when I had no where I needed to go. I did not need to start the car to get in a full days work, I just walked out to my shop to make some powdered laundry soap! My shop door is about 20 steps from my little house on the lake, and a great place to spend the day!

I have not posted a blog for a while. I recently took an unexpected trip to Oregon when I got a call that my father was very ill and had just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It has been a while since I have posted my last blog. I have been very busy after my Oregon trip getting ready for the expo and the beginning of the market season. I have had a couple of great season opening weekends and am looking forward to setting a steady pace through the summer and fall.
